The studio year is 33 weeks (September – June) which includes 30 lessons and 3 workshops.  Workshop weeks replace regularly scheduled lessons and offer students the opportunity to learn in a group setting.  Workshops cover a variety of topics such as ensemble playing and Body Mapping.  Lessons begin Monday, September 8th

 

2008-2009 WORKSHOPS

Workshops will be held on Sundays at 6:00- 7:15pm or Tuesdays at 3:45-5:00pm.  For each of the workshop, students select the meeting time they would like to participate in.  Sign-ups for workshops will take place several weeks before the workshop date.  There are no make-ups for workshops.

Ensemble Playing.  Have fun playing your favorite holiday tunes using the principles of balance. 

January 4th

Breathing – The entire body is involved in breathing. Find out how breathing happens and how to use the breath in your flute playing.

March 7th

Solo master class – bring a piece you are working on to perform for your peers and receive tips on the piece & performing.

 

SPRING GALA CONCERT

The studio concert traditionally takes place in May.  The concert gives students an opportunity to perform, work with other players and listen to their peers perform.  More details will be available during the year.  Seniors have the option to perform their very own graduation recital.  Arrangements need to started in the early fall.
